Diary, 1857.

The volume contains two sections relating to the woman's impressions of hotels. The first features concise records of menus and table settings at the Astor Hotel in New York as well as comments on the appearances and characteristics of lodgers. The second part provides descriptions of the furnishings of hotels in Harvre, Rouen, Paris, Lyons, Dijon, Marseilles, and Nice, France and in Genoa, Rome, and Florence, Italy during the writer's trip abroad in 1857.
